DISCOVER YOUR MOUNTAINS WITH WILD TREASURE

As WILD TREASURE  celebrates  two years of taking an eclectic variety of groups into our cape mountains and guiding a variety of rituals and milestones, we were struck by how many of our friends, acquaintances,  and friends of friends, expressed a desire to “get into the mountains”,  ” slow down in nature”,  “come along with you next time.”  Or simply "ummmmed"  longingly…..

So we are responding to this by offering a series of mountain experiences for people who would love to get to know our local mountains and wild places off the main tracks, but aren’t sure where to begin

This series aims to introduce people to the variety of mountain experiences available within an hour’s drive from Cape Town.  It aims to build awareness of these environments in such a way as to experience the soulfulness and potential nourishment of these wild places.  Integral to this is the principal of ‘treading lightly on the earth’ so that our impact on these precious places is minimal.

We will use our experience and training and our knowledge of some of the lesser known nooks and crannies in our Western Cape mountains, to guide you for a day and leave you enriched by the unexpected solitude,  beauty and nourishment that our mountains, so close to home, can provide.

Our winter trails will lead to mountain tops and the shelter of rocky overhangs, and as summer approaches we will increasingly lead you toward sunsparkled mountain pools and shady kloofs.

Our first trail is on Saturday 1st of June.  We will meet at 9h00 in Camps Bay.  Following lesser known paths through ancient afro montane forests, we gradually ascend to the path along the Twelve Apostles. We explore Tranquility Cracks and then, in a magically sheltered spot, brew tea/ coffee and munch on a delicious samies which will be provided by us.  We then follow sandstone ridges, taking in breathtaking views of the Atlantic Seaboard before descending on a different route between massive sentinels  of solid rock towards the ocean below.

Our second hike is on Saturday the 20 July. We will meet at 9h00 at Constantia Nek. This hike will take in Orange Kloof and surrounds.

We will upgrade this page regularly with information on our forth coming hikes- dates, places and times and the fitness level required.

The price including lunch and tea/coffee (the real thing) is R 350 per person.
Secure your place with a 50% deposit as soon as possible as we are limiting this initial to eight people.  On receipt of your deposit we will send you a kit list and further details.

If you would like to gather your own group of friends (for a birthday or other occasion) please contact us to book a date.

Should the day be postponed due to weather, your deposit is 100% refundable or transferable to the next date, whichever you prefer.
